Robin Seligman

Background
Robin Seligman obtained her law degree from the University of Western Ontario and was called to the Bar in 1985. She has been certified as a specialist in Immigration Law by the Law Society of Upper Canada since 1995. She served as the Chair of the Canadian Bar Association of Ontario, Citizenship and Immigration Section for three years commencing in 1998 until 2001.

Areas of Practice
Her areas of expertise include: Corporate Immigration law - Work Permits and Intra-Company Transfers, Federal and Provincial skilled workers, Business immigration-Investors, Spousal applications-inland and overseas, Family re-unification, Humanitarian applications–inland and overseas, Citizenship applications, Immigration Appeal Division and Federal Court litigation including leaves and stays, Work permits – corporate immigration, Rehabilitation applications and Temporary resident permits.

Professional Activities
She is a past Chair of the CBA National Citizenship and Immigration Section.
She has served on the Executive for the Canadian Bar Association National Section for years. She has chaired programs and spoken extensively for various organizations on the topic of Canadian Immigration Law including The Canadian Bar Association, Seneca College, Insight and the Law Society of Upper Canada. She has also served on advisory groups for the last 3 Minister’s of Citizenship and Immigration. Robin is quoted regularly in the Canadian national newspapers and has appeared on the CBC and other television stations as well being a guest speaker on many radio programs. She is also listed in “The Best Lawyers in Canada” in the specialty of Immigration Law. She also recently appeared at the Parliamentary committee on Citizenship and immigration regarding Bill C-43.
