Ron McKay




Ron has taken various positions at the provincial and national levels of professional associations related to immigration consulting. He previously served as a member at large, Western chair, and vice president for the Organization of Professional Immigration Consultants (OPIC). He was the first elected national president of the Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants (CAPIC) and later served in his capacity as a past national president. Today, he continues to participate as a member of CAPIC’s Past Presidents Committee. Ron is a Fellow of the Canadian Migration Institute and he participates occasionally on regional and national advisory committees dealing with citizenship and immigration, the Canada Border Services Agency, Service Canada, and Immigration Refugee Board issues.

Ron is an independent Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant, working with Clark Wilson LLP in the area of Canadian immigration. He also assists Mr. Larry Yen, the firm’s U.S. Immigration attorney, in the preparation of U.S. immigration matters. From 1987 to 1996, Ron was a locally engaged immigration officer, employed by the Government of Canada in Tokyo, Japan. During this time, he dealt regularly with applicants seeking either permanent or temporary entry to Canada.
