CAPIC - The Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants (CAPIC-ACCPI) is the professional organisation created for regulated Canadian immigration consultants and founded on the 4 pillars of education, information, lobbying and recognition. CAPIC leads, connects, protects and develops the protection, serving the best interests of its members.

With an immigration industry history dating back to 1986, there are undoubtedly many important milestones that have been achieved and that are worthwhile to recall. These milestones have had a tremendous influence on various immigration industry changes, and they have influenced the inclusion of a professional occupation by the title of "Immigration Consultant"!

RCICs, are experts in Canadian immigration Law and practice. They are trained, tested, certified and required to keep abreast of immigration changes to give you the best and most accurate advice. RCICs will help you choose the best program to obtain your permanent or temporary residence.

Registered Canadian Immigration Consultants are listed on the official website of the ICCRC. Consumers, can check at anytime the ICCRC Website to ensure the consultant they are using is registered, or to find Registered Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) residing within proximity to them.

All complaints filed against RCICs must be done so with the regulatory body - ICCRC. If you have any issues with the immigration services you were provided, you can contact the regulatory body in the following ways:

Membership

How do I become a member? How do I become a member?

If you're interested in becoming a member, we recommend that you use the online application, which can be found under the Become a Member section. Please fill this form out and submit it. Your membership will be processed within 10 business days.

Which documents do I need to send in order to become a member? Which documents do I need to send in order to become a member?

The documents required for membership vary in terms of the type of membership that you wish to apply for. Please find an outline below of the various documents that are required.

Please send us the following:

Registered members

  • ICCRC certificate and ID
  • Police Clearance certificate
  • Copy of an official photo ID document (i.e. Driver’s licence, personal data page from the passport).

Student Members

  • An official photo ID document (i.e. Driver’s licence, personal data page from the passport).
  • Documents proving your student status (i.e. most recent tuition fee receipt; or a letter from your Registrar confirming your current enrollment; or in the case where you graduated within the past 12 months – your graduation certificate or your transcript)
  • ORIGINAL police clearance certificate showing that you do not have any criminal records.

Typically, membership subscription takes around 10 business days to process. This figure however, may vary, depending on the total amount of membership requests that CAPIC receives at a given time.

Membership can be paid by cheque or online. If you wish to pay online, please visit the CAPIC Payment Page.

All cheques must be payable to “CAPIC” with your name on the “memo” line. Kindly mail the cheque to the address below:

  • Please note that CAPIC has the explicit authorization from the ICCRC Registrar to reproduce ICCRC Certificate or ID card for the purpose of confirming ICCRC membership when applying for and/or renewing membership.

  • Profile updates can be done by logging in to your member account and accessing the User's Hompage.
  • Following this step, please click "My Account" to update your personal information, profile picture, and account password.

Seminar

How can I attend a seminar? How can I attend a seminar?
  • You can attend a seminar in person, by webinar, or purchase a recording.
Can I register for the seminar at the door? Can I register for the seminar at the door?
  • No. Please complete the CAPIC seminar registration online. If you wish to register for a seminar, please click on the respective seminar title and complete the seminar registration process.
How much does it cost to attend a particular seminar? How much does it cost to attend a particular seminar?
  • Depending on the seminar, non-member fees tend to cost around $75. Members tend to pay around $50, and students (non-members) pay around $75. For the exact costs of a particular seminar, please refer to the seminar registration form.
  • We aim to have seminar costs consistent, however, prices can vary accordingly depending on a variety of factors including if the event is a workshop, half day or full day event. Take advantage of CAPIC's Seminar Bundle, an unique package of seminars available, at a discounted price. The "Bundle" special is offered from January 1st to April 30th, each year and includes all the seminars excepting the NEC.

When will I receive the presentation materials for the seminar I registered? When will I receive the presentation materials for the seminar I registered?
  • The presentation materials in PDF format are available approximately one to two days before the seminar. Once the presentation materials become available, we will deliver them to seminar registrants through our announcement.
When will the recording of the seminar I attended be released? When will the recording of the seminar I attended be released?
  • Recordings are normally released within 2 weeks, following the seminar date. As soon as the seminar recording is released, it will be posted under "My CPD Programs" section of User's Homepage of our website. For more information regarding the release date of the recordings, please contact Alex Cheng at techsupport@capic.ca.

  • We recommend that you check your spam box, in the event where you haven't received an email regarding the seminar recording. Seminar recordings are now accessible on our website under "My CPD Programs" section of User's Homepage. Please contact Alex Cheng at techsupport@capic.ca if you require the email with the a seminar recording to be re-sent.

How can I access the webinar? How can I access the webinar?

You will be sent the login instructions for logging into the webinar upon submission of registration. Now the webinar login information can be found in the User's Homepage under "My CPD Programs" as well.

If, however, you do not receive this information or unable to locate it in the User's Homepage, please contact Alex Cheng at techsupport@capic.ca.

How do I purchase the recording? How do I purchase the recording?

You can purchase a recording by clicking on the respective recording name, and filling out the form. If you have any trouble, please call 416-483-7044.

Recording prices, just like seminar prices, tend to vary in range. The price of a recording normally costs the same amount as attending a seminar in person.

To access the recording, you are required to log into the User’s Homepage. To login, please enter the email address you used when registering for our seminar, and enter the password listed in the confirmation email when you first registered for our seminar. In case you forget the password, you can reset your password by clicking on the ‘Forgot your password’ section, listed here.

How do I report my CPD hours to ICCRC? How do I report my CPD hours to ICCRC?

You are required to report your CPD hours to ICCRC if you attend our seminar by webcast or watch the recording. To report the CPD hours to ICCRC, please complete the CPD Reporting Form and CPD Certification Form, and mail the completed forms along with a copy of the seminar agenda and the receipt to ICCRC.

Because of privacy legislation, CAPIC is unable to provide the contact information for individual members. If you know the member in particular you wish to contact, you can search that information on our website by clicking "here". If however, you require assistance in contacting a CAPIC member, please contact CAPIC, at 416-483-7044, and we will be glad to pass on your contact information to the particular member.

Can I work with an Immigration Consultant (from your list)? Can I work with an Immigration Consultant (from your list)?

CAPIC does not make such arrangements or provide referral services. If you are interested in an internship or establishing a business relationship with a particular members, please contact CAPIC at 416-483-7044, and CAPIC can pass on your contact information.

CAPIC is not the regulatory body for such matters.   1. Login to your membership account on CAPIC's Website
  2. Go to User's Homepage -> Access IMMeForum
  3. Click on "Accept the terms and access IMMeForum.ca" tab
  4. Select "Solutions" List

Once you have reached Solutions Home Page, click on "Post New Message" under "Options" on the right hand side of the screen. A message editor will appear on the screen for drafting new message.

IMMeForum Lite is an email-based forum service, you will receive all the postings from forum users by email, and you can submit posts to the forum by using your email address registered with us. The full version of IMMeForum is accessible by CAPIC members only.

Create a new email message with the title of your posting as the subject line, and your message as the content of the email. To submit, send the email to solutions@immeforum.ca. The message must be sent from the email address that has been registered with us.

Once the forum messages have been delivered to your mailbox, you may reply to them by clicking "reply" as you would with an email. Please note, however, that with the IMMeForum Lite subscription, you cannot have access to the forum online; you may reply to the messages through your email.
